Haruki Murakami was born in Kyoto on 12 January 1949 and is a Japanese writer. His books and stories have been bestsellers in Japan as well as internationally. He has a passion for listening to music, especially classical and jazz. He is a serius marathon runner and triathlon enthusiast, though he did not start running until he was 33 yeas old. When he is working on a book, his wife is always his first reader.
