Ivan Turgenev was born in Oryol, on 9 November 1818. He was a Russian novelist, short-story writer and playwright. Turgenev never married but he had a dauther. His novel “Fathers and sons” (1862) is regarded as one of the major works of 19th-century fiction. He died from spinal tumor at Bugrval near Paris on 3 September 1883. (Based on Wikipedia)
